Teaching opportunity for PhD students – BMB GTA recruitment call 2019/2020

BSc Medical Biosciences is recruiting Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTAs) to assist with the lab practical teaching in the Year 1 and Year 2 Lab Pod Modules.

We are looking for current Imperial PhD students who are interested in applying to be a GTA in 2019/20 to give practical lab demonstrations on the BSc in Medical Biosciences (BMB) programme, run in the Faculty of Medicine.  Labs run throughout the academic year, and you will work alongside teaching fellows to supervise and guide first or second year undergraduate students.

We are looking for potential GTAs with experience in at least one of the following techniques: cell culture, RQ-PCR, western blot, flow cytometry, bacterial cloning, CRISPR, or who have demonstrated in any of the current lab practicals run for undergraduates or at masters level courses using similar techniques. You should feel comfortable troubleshooting techniques, and discussing results with the students.

You will need to be able to attend training on one of the following days:

September 17th at 1pm

September 19th at 10am

September 25th at 1pm

Training sessions will be run in North lab 2 on the 3rd floor of the Commonwealth Building at Hammersmith Hospital and will last 3 hours.
