We recognise that there is huge scope for collaborative research between biologists, physicists and electrical engineers currently active in fluorescent microscopy and the statistics community, who often find it difficult to penetrate the technical work of these disciplines.
The aim of
this workshop is to create an environment in which eight
researchers from across different disciplines will come
and talk about their current research in the broad area
of statistical signal and image processing for
fluorescence microscopy, and specifically research areas
where advanced statistical analysis is of paramount
importance to future progress. We hope this will
help bridge some of the gap between those at the
forefront of microscopy and the statistics community and
create a forum to encourage active dialogue across
disciplines.
