Electrical propagation in fetal heart model

First we see arrhythmia induced by bile acid in an in vitro model of the fetal heart. The arrhythmia is prevented by the addition of ursodeoxycholic acid.

Cooler babies, better brains

Work over the last decade has shown that brain damage which can be reduced by cooling the affected infant for 3 days after delivery. Cooling doubles the chance of normal survival, and is the first therapy been proven to reduce brain damage.
