Meet the 2011 Climate KIC cohort
11 August 2011

How do you feel about finishing off the journey in London?
“I lived in London for two years so it’s nice to be back again. It’s also good to get the chance to see the campus where I’ll be based for the next two years. I’m pleased Imperial is involved with the Climate-KIC programme, and it is definitely going to help with the MSc I’m about to begin here. The programme is really exciting and we’ve been introduced to lots of new concepts, had access to some amazing experts, and there’s been good team energy and team support.” Jennifer Bangirana, starting a MSc in Environmental Engineering and Sustainable Development in October at Imperial
“After travelling for so long it’s exciting to be back at Imperial. It was my birthday yesterday, so I took everyone to a pub close by for dinner and some real English ale. It’s great to be able to return the hospitality which other students showed us while we were in their countries. “ Tom Hills, recently completed a MEng and is due to begin a PhD at the Grantham Institute
“Imperial is impressive, especially the lovely old buildings, and I like how central the South Kensington campus is. On my way in this morning I noticed a display with some of the research which has taken place here, and was interested to see mention of an invisibility cloak.” Amulya Tata, ETH, Zurich
“All of us are staying at Evelyn Garden Halls and the traditional red brick work really makes you feel like you’re in London. The only bad thing is that since we’re near the end of our projects we don’t have much time for sightseeing. “ Romain Lefevre, Univeristie Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris
