Library Services have purchased two journal backfiles from Thieme Chemistry.
Synthesis is an international journal devoted to the advancement of the science of synthetic chemistry. It covers all fields of organic chemistry involving synthesis, including catalysis, organometallic, medicinal, biological, and photochemistry, as well as related disciplines. The Library previously offered access from 2003 to the present – this new purchase gives you full access back to the first issue in 1969.
Synlett reports research results and current trends in synthetic organic chemistry in short personalized reviews and preliminary communications. It covers all fields of science involving organic synthesis, including catalysis, organometallic, medicinal, biological, and photochemistry, but also related disciplines. This backfile extends the Library’s provision meaning that we now offer access from the first issue in 1989 to the present.

Library Services have recently purchased the RSC chemistry e-book collection which includes over 1,200 titles published from 1968 to 2014.
The collection covers all areas of chemistry as well as related subject such as climate change, renewable energy, biofuels, health and medicine and forensic sciences.
And if that wasn’t enough the collection also includes books on the chemistry of fireworks, chocolate and beer!
You can search for books by title, subject or keyword and phrase at the RSC website or search for book titles on Library Search.
Chapters can be downloaded individually and there are no limits on usage meaning you can download several chapters from the same book if you want to.
