High Expectations

Hello fellow students. My name is Ali-Abbas and I have just started the MSc Finance Programme here at the Business School. Previously, I studied Economics at Warwick University.

Having been interested in Finance from an early age I applied to the Masters programme to really fill the gaps in my technical knowledge before launching into a career in Investment Banking. After interning at Morgan Stanley over the summer I realised that a Masters degree in Finance would really help me to advance within the field as well as differentiate myself in the recruitment process.

My plan was always to come back to work in London after my undergraduate degree but Imperial’s reputation, partnership with the CFA Institute and top ranked Finance Programme in London, made it an unmissable opportunity.

The first deadlines are getting close!

Quick update: week #5 at the MSc Strategic Marketing has just started! It rather feels like month #5 to be honest. But in a positive way! Looking back over the past four weeks I notice how much we’ve already done in such little time! And we’re getting busier each day…

Whoohoo Whoohoo Evacuate the Dancefl-eh-Library!

The fire alarm went off in the library this morning, meaning we all had to leave the building and wait outside until the situation was resolved. It is incredible how many people are already at the Imperial library around 11am as you can see on the pictures.

WELCOME TO IMPERIAL

Welcome everybody…

… my name is Anna, I am from Germany and I did my undergrad degree in Business Administration at the LMU Munich. After having done a 4-month internship at Condé Nast this summer I am now finally here in London and ready for one year which I hope will be packed with loads of experiences, new friendships and of course many insights into the world of strategic marketing!

Delay. Delay, what are you doing? Delay. Stahp!

As you can probably guess from the title above, my flight from to London did not go as smooth as planned. After arriving at the airport, I spotted several flight delay notifications on the screens. At first, only the flight prior to mine was delayed, which made me laugh silently at the people on that flight, since my flight would now probably leave before their flight. But, of course, karma must have heard this silent laughter and in the end my flight was delayed for two hours, due to weather circumstances in London (which is very comforting thought if you don’t like rain, ahem…).
