  • This year saw the successful launch of the Imperial College Diabetes Network
  • The Dhillo Research Group were awarded The President’s Medal for Outstanding Research Team. Read the full announcement.
  • Drs Aida Martinez-Sanchez and Alejandra Tomas were appointed as new Lecturers in the Division
  • Professor Sir Steve Bloom was awarded an Honorary Degree by Brunel University in recognition of his outstanding work as a scientist and clinician
  • Professor Gary Frost was awarded a £1 million grant as part of the Quadram’s new quinquennial BBSRC research programme, which gives the Section for Nutrition Research collaborative funding for four years to work on food structure and metabolic health.
  • Dr Channa Jayasena received an NIHR Health Technology Assessment Grant (£550k), in addition to an NIHR Postdoctoral Fellowship.
  • Professor Graham Williams was awarded the 2018 Steven Boonen Clinical Research Award by the European Calcified Tissue Society
  • Dr Shivani Misra was featured as part of the Evening Standard’s annual Progress 1000 list of influential Londoners.
  • Professor Guy Rutter successfully renewed his MRC Programme Grant and Wellcome Investigator Award.
  • Professor Jorge Ferrer received an ERC Advanced Grant Award

  • Dr Natalie Butterfield was awarded an Early Career Award from the Society for Endocrinology, and was also elected to European Calcified Tissue Society Academy.
  • Dr Andrea Pollard was awarded a New Investigator Award by the Bone Research Society
  • The Bone Research Society Oral Prize was awarded to Dr Marie Pereira
  • Dr John Logan was awarded an Early Career Award Society for Endocrinology.
