Last week of Les Mills free fast classes

All the members of Ethos Sports Centre have been enjoying the free Les Mills fast classes put on by the active lifestyles team in October. As the classes come to a close we wanted to tell you all about healthy living week in January 2015. We have a whole week of free fast classes, studio classes, body MOTs, health assessments, massage, back injury assessment, swimming lessons, climbing wall sessions, physiotherapy, osteopathy and nutrition advise plus LOADS of free goodies and t-shirts! Marketing for the event will be out in November, so please look out for our week planner on the ALT website page.

Body Step classes are available on the studio timetable.

Join in Les Mills fast classes in the gym – Ethos Sports Centre

IMG_0543 Ethos gym have some fab classes running in October. No need to book and they are free so come along and join in.

Every day Monday-Friday we have have classes running between 5-6pm which include, boxing, body attack, body combat, body step and body pump. For more information click on the ALT website and read about the classes or email actlife@imperial.ac.uk

 

Call out for all Silwood Park staff and students!

FREE CIRCUIT CLASSES, SILWOOD GYM, FRIDAY 17TH OCTOBER, NO NEED TO BOOK JUST JOIN IN.

 

Shannon Jewell and Gary McDermont from the Active Lifestyles Team will be in Silwood gym running 45 min fast classes. The classes are free, no need to book and are open to all staff and students of Silwood Park. Make the most of the team being down on campus by utilising their expertise and enjoying a fun session.

 

1215-1300 – Boxing fit (a fun class incorporating fitness, cardio and boxing)

 1315-1400 – strength circuit (developing strength and power the session will all involve resistance based exercise, whether you’re a pro or a beginner we will tailor workout towards your ability.)

 1415-1500 – boot camp (chucking the kitchen sink at you this class is really fun and dynamic. The class includes body weight, resistance and cardio high intensity workouts)

 Both advisors will also be on hand to help advise on any programming or new training tips.

Pre Season 2014

Pre-season 2014 lead by Mark Reid – Student Performance Active Lifestyles Team. Over 400 athletes descended onto Ethos in September. A wide range of clubs attended including rugby, netball, tennis, hockey, Judo, and football. Sessions ran twice daily and where lead by an elite group of strength and conditioning coaches, physiotherapists, sports masseurs and sport scientists. Examples of sessions ranged from med ball power sessions, weightlifting technique, acceleration, and running mechanics.

Students learnt from the best coaches in the business including Iain Jefferies from British Weightlifting.

 

 

The program was also open to any student or staff member looking to improve their fitness and lifting techniques. If you are interested in finding out more information about weightlifting contact us on actlife@imperial.ac.uk

 

New Les Mills Class Launched in October at Ethos

Body Step is the crazy new studio class created by Les Mills. Ethos have bought the new studio class onto the timetable during the Autumn term. Why not give it a go, bookings for all classes including Body Step are placed via Ethos reception in person or by calling 02075940910.

Body Step is on Monday’s 1315-1400 and Thursday 1615-1700, ths class is active lifestlyes team recommendation of the month!

Sharon and Jas from Sherfield said “The class was amazing, we really enjoyed the workout and think the class would be great for anyone looking to mix up their workouts. The moves are easy to learn and you can push yourself as hard as you want. Lectica is a really great studio instructor, who encourages loads, thanks active lifestyles team for bringing the class too Imperial”
